Rowing at Catz

St. Catherine’s is an active rowing College, with a number University Blues and international representatives in recent years. Rowing is organized by the St Catherine’s College Boat Club (SCCBC), and there is plenty of opportunity for everyone to get involved, whatever your level of experience or ability. There are two main inter-Collegiate rowing carnivals in Oxford each year: Torpids in Hilary term, and the Summer Eights in Trinity term. The Christ Church Regatta in Michaelmas term is a special event for novice rowers.SCCBC has a boathouse at Longbridges on the river Isis, about 10 minutes bike ride from College. In addition to racking space for up to nine VIIIs and our other smaller boats, Catz has its own clubroom with a kitchen, changing rooms, toilets and a shower, and shared use of the boathouse ergometer (rowing machine) room. The gym on the main College site also has two ergometer machines.
